This temple opened in the year 1128 and was dedicated to Kobo-Daishi in order to ward off evil. It has long been famous as a place of doing so and is formally known as the main temple of the Shingon Chisan sect, Kongozan Kinjoin Heiken-ji, but better known as Kawasaki Daishi. The Taro Okamoto Museum of Art is located in Ikuta Ryokuchi Park. The painter Taro Okamoto was a master of modern techniques and always fought to stay at the head of the artistic world. He is famously known for setting the goal of becoming a greater artist than Picasso after viewing the Picasso painting Pitcher and Fruit Bowl and being extremely shocked. He is even more famous, however, for his representative art piece Tower of the Sun and the phrase "Art is an explosion."
